When you commission a session with Studio La Muse, you are not just booking a photography session, you are booking an experience. This experience can be life changing. I will tell your entire story with one photo or tell a lifetime of stories in a series, down to the smallest details. And at the end of your adventure with me, you get: Awesome photographs, cherished memories, and a new appreciation for yourselves and your loved ones.
My focus is on building relationships (whether with oneself, child, partner, etc.), connections, and community. Telling a story without words, documenting raw emotion and giving my clients those memories to hold on to forever is what makes my heart sing.
Utilizing the available light and environment, I observe and document your story as it unfolds. Some of life's greatest moments are happening right in front of us; the imperfect, unscripted and at times messy moments are where our real stories live and deserve to be beautifully documented. In this current stage of your life as a parent, partner, fearless woman or mother-to-be, this fleeting time is important for you to remember. All of the emotions, tenderness and familiarity you want to tuck away in your heart to hold onto forever, will be captured in photographs.
And whichever session you may choose, my promise to you is always the same: to provide you with an unforgettable experience, to tell your story authentically, to give you more than just photographs... I want to give you art you will cherish, art you will display and art you pass down to your children and your children's children as a legacy of your life story.
Before the Session
It is important to me to get to know my clients so I can photograph them in the most authentic way possible. This means I take the time to meet with each client prior to the photo session. During this meeting we will drink coffee and chat about goals for the session, about your and your family's personalities, and how things will unfold during the shoot. This helps gets you comfortable with me so when I am there with my camera on our shooting day, you can be your true, authentic self.
During the session
Depending on your session type, I will stand back and observe more (storytelling sessions) or maybe be involved in drawing out your true emotions (connection sessions). My approach during shoots is relaxed, fun and honest. I want you to feel like you are hanging out with a friend that just happens to have a camera with... No pressure! We take a walk together, I observe, and when needed, I can ask some prompting questions to get emotions flowing. I ask kids to play a game of chase, I ask couples to talk about their hopes, and I ask women what makes them strong. By doing so that we are able to photograph your real personalities and emotions, and create authentic memories.
After the session
After your session, you are invited to a viewing appointment where you can enjoy seeing your best photos and you can relive that day and see yourself the was I see… which is full of stories, and full of beauty in your own unique way.
During the viewing appointment we will select your favorite images and create a piece of art for you. This may be an album, a framed fine art print, a series of canvases or a fine art print on a wood block. I am there to help you decide which images will look best as an art piece and where you may want to display them in your home.
